ElectroServer™ is born and used to power one of the first multiplayer Flash games on the Internet, Mini Golf. While a great start for a multiplayer server it couldn't handle more than a few hundred connected users.

ElectroServer 2 was created to provide more features for game development and to increase capacity. This version supported more than a thousand connected users.
March 2002
Companies started showing a lot of interest in licensing ElectroServer and our Electrotank's other popular multiplayer games. Multiplayer Mini Golf was licensed by companies such as Eurosport and The Glenlivet.
October 2003
Electrotank released ElectroServer 3, the most flexible server for Flash multiplayer game developers. ElectroServer 3 introduced attractive features like server-side ActionScript and Java plugins, room variables, and user variables. These are now found in competing products. ElectroServer 3 was tested by Electrotank to 10,000 users but some of the license holders claim to have more than doubled that.
March 2004
Nickelodeon uses ElectroServer to power their isometric game environment Bin Weevils. With unique interactivity, multiple levels of custom moderation, and chat abilities this game is still popular today.
Year 2005
With the desire for multiplayer games growing ElectroServer started showing up in programming books and being discussed at industry conferences. ElectroServer starts being used to power games on other platforms, such as cell phones.
June 2006
This is the year when multiplayer Flash games really started to take off. Ganz, a plush toy company, had an idea for a massive multiplayer online world. In this world kids adopt virtual pets, take care of them, and interact with other users by playing games and visiting their own custom room. Webkinz has become one of the largest multiplayer world on the Internet. They use ElectroServer to handle the load.
July 2006
Comedy Central had a fun and unique idea for a series of single and multiplayer games called Redneck Games. These award winning games were featured in on-air promotions and eventually won the 2006 Broadcast Design Association (BDA) Award in the Interactive Media, Interactive Games category. ElectroServer was used to drive the chat and multiplayer games.
August 2006
Mattel used ElectroServer power a real-time multiplayer racing game in Flash for Hot Wheels, the first of its kind. ElectroServer is also used to run a unique Barbie chat with AI chat bots.

Electrotank starts development on ElectroServer 4.

ElectroServer powers a game written for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. The game is called The Most Important Trivia Game...Ever! This game is a series of 10 multiplayer mini-games that combine humor with puzzles and trivia.
May 2007
VH1 uses an early version of ElectroServer 4 to power the games at Worldofpop.com. The World Series of Pop Culture is a humorous team-based trivia game show aired on VH1. This site serves as a companion site to the show and as a destination site for games and community features.
August 2007
The first Wii compatible ElectroServer game is released by Mattel. The game is called Finish Line.

Electrotank gives electro-server.com an updated look along with more information about ElectroServer 4.
